Tamariki Tipu
Tamariki Tipu has three goals which are grounded in the idea of a seed; Know, Grow and Flourish. Just as seeds already have everything within them that they need to grow, but require the right environment and inputs to be able to reach their full potential, children are the same. To see a child know, grow and flourish, their ‘roots’ need to be nourished with what they each need to fully develop, allowing them to flourish and be encouraged in all they are.

We have a team of three Tamariki Tipu Children’s Workers, providing a total of 30 hours of children’s work per week, in three local Primary Schools on the Hibiscus Coast.
This is a new initiative that is being piloted in 2025 by our Trust, as we have heard and seen from those in education spaces in our area that the need for additional wellbeing support for youth is needed even earlier. We partner with each school to prioritise the areas of need for them. This currently looks like running friendship programmes, facilitating lunchtime games, helping children regulate their emotions to be in class, connecting parents and more.
