Community Gardens

Community GardensThe community gardens programme was born out of an identifiable need for fresh vegetables in food parcels given in the community. This need is especially evident during the winter months where vegetable prices rise and become less available.

On development of this project the community gardens have served as a bastion where those whom may be socially isolated but have an interest in gardening, have been able to gather. Further use has seen young people with community service hours able to complete those working in the gardens under the supervision of the Youth Justice worker.
